Pump Clips

Heard a great story the other day.

My friend went into his local pub and ordered a pint of Brains Reverend James. Knowing that the beer is usually an brown, amber colour, he was curious when the beer poured a light golden.

The barmaid was non-plussed and could not help but the manager was more forthcoming. The beer was in fact Brains SA Gold but they had been unable to find the correct pumpclip that morning so decided to use the Reverend James one as it was the same brewery and near enough.

The correct clip had been found and replaced by the time my pal left the pub.

You "real ale" chaps are too fussy.

It all comes from the same bunch of chemicals, doesn't it?

Popping into 'spoons one could start to believe that there is a brewery called "available soon"

This happened once at the White Horse in Parsons Green once when the pump advertising Oakham JHB was dispensing a brown liquid (Harvey's if I remember correctly).

The bar staff argued with someone who told them they'd got their beers mixed up but they were on thin ice as the place was full of CAMRA bods who'd left the GBBF.

I think I'm one of the few who has yet to be impressed by the knowledge of the staff at this pub...

Yeah. The White Horse is not as good as it thinks it is.
